Terms of Service
The basic rules for using this site. I've kept these short, because the site is not complicated.
Last updated: April 2026
By using learnspokenarabic.com, you agree to these terms. If you cannot agree to them, please do not use the site.
What This Site Is
learnspokenarabic.com is the personal publication of A.C. Maas — an author's website featuring articles, a newsletter, and information about spoken Arabic. The site is operated by A.C. Maas personally.
Use of Content
All articles, essays, and written content on this site are copyrighted and belong to A.C. Maas. You are welcome to:
- Read and enjoy the content
- Share links to articles on social media or in emails
- Quote briefly from articles in your own writing, with attribution and a link back to the original
You may not:
- Republish articles in full on other websites without permission
- Use the content for commercial purposes without permission
- Translate and publish articles in other languages without permission
- Use the content to train AI systems without permission
If you'd like to do something that requires permission, just ask me. I often say yes to reasonable requests.
The Newsletter
When you subscribe to The Spoken Arabic Newsletter, you agree to receive weekly emails from me. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any newsletter, or by emailing me directly.
I do not spam. I send roughly one newsletter per week, plus occasional announcements about new books or significant site updates.
Affiliate Links
This site includes affiliate links to Amazon, StoryLearning, and italki. When you purchase a book, course, or tutoring session through these links, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Full details are on the Disclosures page.
Accuracy
I aim for accuracy in everything I publish, but language, culture, and history are complex, and I am not infallible. If you notice a factual error or disagreement worth discussing, please contact me — I genuinely welcome corrections. Nothing on this site should be taken as definitive scholarly authority; it is the passionate and careful work of one writer.
No Warranty
The site is provided as-is. I make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy, or completeness. I am not responsible for any consequences that might arise from your use of the content — for example, if you act on advice in an article and something goes wrong, that is your decision.
Changes
I may update these terms occasionally. When I do, I will note the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Contact
For any question about these terms, email me.
